Was Jesus the son of the Most High God?
What did He say about this?
What did others who knew Him say?
What did God say?
John called him "the only begotten son of God":
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world;
but rather that the world through him might be saved.
He that believes on him is not condemned:
but he that believes not is condemned already,
because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
(John 3:16-18)
Mark, the writer of the second gospel, starts his story of Jesus with the statement,
"The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God..."
(Mark 1:1)
What God Himself said...
Luke wrote thus:
Now when all the people were being baptized,
it came to pass, that Jesus also was baptized,
and as he prayed, the heaven was opened,
and the Holy Spirit of God descended
in a bodily shape like a dove upon him,
and a voice came from heaven, which said,
"You are my beloved Son; in you I am well pleased."
(Luke 3:21-22)
